VIDEO: Pelosi Claims Sanctuary Cities Make America A Safer Place

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) might be the only Democrat as happy as Republicans with the Supreme Court announcement. That’s because the tremendous attention that broadcast generated has obscured her awful answer on sanctuary cities during her CNN town hall last night.

Pelosi represents the notoriously liberal San Francisco in Congress. San Francisco is a sanctuary city, which means they do not comply with federal immigration laws. When confronted about this last night, Pelosi made the laughable statement that San Francisco’s sanctuary city policy made the city safer:

“’As far as sanctuary cities is concerned, our city of San Francisco is a sanctuary city, and we see it as a place where it makes us safer. It makes us safer because people can – can go to school, they can get driver licenses, they can be witnesses against other violence they see in the community,’ Pelosi told one town hall participant about sanctuary cities.”

Even when Pelosi was confronted by a mother whose son was killed by an undocumented immigrant, Pelosi stuck with the script. This type of out of touch thinking is why the Democratic Party is out of power to an extent not seen since the 1920s.
