In April, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed Karen Handel in the Georgia-6 special election. In a new story by the Washington Examiner, new details have emerged about Jon Ossoff’s own attempt to win the coveted backing of the U.S. Chamber.

Ossoff met with the group in March, but according to the Chamber’s political director, Rob Engstrom, Ossoff’s answers made “crystal clear” he’d be another vote for Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda:

“He said the Democrat ‘generically asserted he was pro-business,’ but that his answers to the chamber’s questions made ‘crystal clear’ that he is aligned with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.”

The fact that Ossoff attempted to win the backing of the pro-business group also endangers the support Ossoff has received from national liberals:

“The question is whether left-wing activists and groups, that have donated and steered millions of dollars in money and manpower to Ossoff’s campaign, are okay with his flirtation with the U.S. Chamber and a centrist message that runs counter to what they stand for.”

The last thing Ossoff can afford is losing the support of national liberals because his FEC report shows he gets very little campaign cash from Georgia. These anti-business groups backing Ossoff can’t be happy with him today.
