Embattled New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-NY) is the subject of five separate investigations and two different grand juries. Yet the most significant sign of Mayor de Blasio’s ethical problems will come today when he sits down with federal prosecutors from the office of Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.

There are so many de Blasio scandals and investigations that the Wall Street Journal actually had to clarify that they were unsure if de Blasio’s interview with federal prosecutors would ” focus on any specific aspect of the wide-ranging probe.” There’s just so many disgraceful actions the feds might want to talk to de Blasio about.

Another sign that de Blasio is in serious trouble comes from the fact that his spokesman had to deny that he was going into the meeting looking for immunity:

“A spokesman for the mayor has said that he didn’t request and wasn’t offered immunity in exchange for participating in the questioning.”

De Blasio’s scandals are also impacting the time he can commit to running New York City. According to the Wall Street Journal, de Blasio had to spend the last two days prepping with his high-priced attorneys:

“The mayor spent a portion of Wednesday and Thursday at the Midtown offices of his lawyer, Barry Berke. The interview Friday is scheduled to take place at the office of Mr. Berke’s firm, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, the person familiar with the matter said.”

At one point de Blasio saw himself as a national political figure. Yet the way his ethical troubles keep building, he’ll be lucky if he’s paroled by 2020.
