After the horrific shooting in Alexandria, there was a bipartisan consensus that the rhetoric in DC should be toned down significantly. Yet now that the Senate Republican have presented a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, certain Democrats are throwing those calls for more civility out the window.

In particular, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has been criticized for saying that Senate bill was “blood money” in a tweet released yesterday afternoon:

Warren’s “blood money” comment is just the latest in what is becoming a pattern of awful comments. Back in April, Warren said that she would “like to cut [Republicans] open.

During the debate over the CPFB, Warren said that one of her choices was “plenty of blood and teeth left on the floor”:

“While members of the Senate Banking Committee debate proposals to fix the nation’s broken financial system and ineffective approach to protecting consumers, Elizabeth Warren has one message: Pass a strong bill or nothing at all. ‘My first choice is a strong consumer agency,’ the Harvard Law professor and federal bailout watchdog said in an interview with the Huffington Post. ‘My second choice is no agency at all and plenty of blood and teeth left on the floor.’”

Lastly, Warren has often talked about her love of “throwing rocks” at people:

“Asked last week about the Republican video that portrayed her as divisive, Ms. Warren said that throwing figurative rocks was necessary to bring about change. ‘I’ve always been on the outside, far away from these powerful institutions,’ she said. ‘All I ever had to work with was to throw some rocks.’”
