Hillary Clinton is back! According to Axios, Clinton is re-entering political life with a new PAC that will be focused on helping Democratic candidates in 2018:

“Hillary Clinton soon will launch a PAC as a way of “acting as a quiet catalyst” for organizations she cares about, and eventually will help 2018 congressional candidates — but with no intention of making it a vehicle to run for anything herself.”

Clinton’s new effort is strange, to say the least, because she ended the 2016 campaign with incredibly high unfavorable numbers. According to 2016 exit polls, 61% of voters said that Clinton was not honest and trustworthy, while 63% of voters also said that Clinton’s email scandal bothered them.

Adding to this puzzling move by Clinton is that most of the competitive Senate races are going to take place in states Clinton lost last year. This makes it highly unlikely that Senators up for re-election would want to be associated with Clinton at all. Regardless of Clinton’s motivations, Democrats can’t be happy about her renewed bid for political relevance. Clinton’s presidential campaign was a disaster of infighting and poor strategy, so Republicans can’t wait for the sequel.
