The Democratic Party elites is in a panic over the brewing situation in Nevada. Yesterday, Congresswoman Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced her Senate candidacy, despite the fact that she’s been a Congresswoman for a grand total of 185 days. Maybe Rosen doesn’t want to spend much time in the House because she’s worried about talking too many pictures with Nancy Pelosi?

The level of Democratic panic is due to the potential entry into the Democratic primary of another Nevada Congresswoman, Dina Titus. Titus has already taken a number of shots at Rosen. Furthermore, her entry in the race would be a further expansion of the Democratic civil war currently overwhelming the party.

The Democratic alarm is evident in how they’ve attempted to circle the wagons around Rosen. The first-term Congresswoman has been in the race for 24 hours and Harry Reid has already managed to have the DSCC, EMILY’s List, Senator Cortez Masto (D-NV), and Congressman Ruben Kihuen (D-NV) endorse his hand-picked, very inexperienced candidate.

Interestingly, there are rumblings that the primary could hinge on a race to the left, with Politico writing that “Titus could also try tacking to Rosen’s left.”However the primary shakes out, it’s shaping up to be a costly distraction for a party that can ill-afford one right now.
