Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was once thought of as someone who could fill the leaderless void in the Democratic Party. Yet a recent string of awful news for Warren has punctured that belief beyond repair.

When you combine Warren’s recent troubles with her far-left views, it’s no accident that many of her Democratic colleagues want nothing to do with her. When asked if Warren was a national Democratic leader, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) couldn’t distance himself from Warren’s “brand” fast enough:

“’She has her own brand. And I think I have my own brand in my own state, so it really doesn’t hurt me,’ said Manchin. ‘They’ve tried the ‘guilty by association’ with [Obama.]’”

Senator Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) went so far as to call the notion that she would ever want to be associated with Warren “ridiculous”:

“’To suggest that we’re Elizabeth Warren is ridiculous, especially when you look at voting records and where we’ve been,’ said Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.).”

Senators Manchin and Heitkamp are two of the most vulnerable Democrats in 2018. The fact that these Democrats want nothing to do with Warren demonstrates her utter lack of appeal outside the liberal coastal conclaves.
